Valmet and Neles Merger Creates a Global Leader with Unique Offering to the Process Industries
On July 2, 2021, Valmet Oyj and Neles Corporation announced that their respective Boards of Directors have signed a combination agreement and a merger plan to combine the two companies through a merger. The combined company will be a leading company with a unique offering for process industries globally. The name of the company will be Valmet Oyj.
After the merger, Valmet will have an even stronger and more comprehensive offering to our customers including board, paper, tissue, pulp and energy technologies, flow control solutions, automation systems and services. Our even wider global services network strengthened by our combined service centres, sales offices, R&D centres and performance centres will improve the customer service and experience.
With an expert organization of 17,000 driven professionals, a global footprint and service network, the combined company will be built on a strong industrial logic through the combination of Valmet’s current automation systems and flow control solutions from Neles. Valmet and Neles share the same heritage as well as culture of performance orientation.
“Together, we will be better positioned to drive innovation and enhance leadership in sustainability and most importantly, to serve our customers even better,” said Pasi Laine, Valmet’s President and CEO.
Valmet has been acknowledged for its strong sustainability work over the years. Neles’ products for their part ensure safe operations in the process industries and thus contribute strongly to our offering promoting sustainability.
After the merger is completed, Valmet’s and Neles’ experts and professionals will form a team with customer and reliability focused shared values, a performance-oriented culture and a shared heritage. This creates a strong foundation for good collaboration and an excellent basis for developing the whole Valmet forward for the benefit of its customers once the merger is completed.
The merger completion is expected to occur on or about January 1, 2022, subject to all conditions for completion being fulfilled. For more information on the merger process and the planned combined company, please visit www.valmet.com or turn to your Valmet contact person.
